Celebrating Srinivasan Rangasamy – Salem’s “Route Thala”

In the vibrant cycling community of Salem, one name stands tall—Srinivasan Rangasamy, fondly known as “Route Thala.” True to his title, he has an unmatched knowledge of cycling routes, guiding fellow riders with precision and passion. But beyond being a navigator, he is celebrated as one of the finest cyclists, with achievements that few can even dream of.

Srinivasan has crossed an extraordinary 1,15,000 km on the saddle, a rare feat that speaks volumes about his endurance and dedication. Adding to this, he has climbed a jaw-dropping 6,34,000 meters of elevation, conquering hills and mountains with unwavering determination. His cycling portfolio also includes rare long-distance achievements— 562 Hunder KM ride and 464 Fifty KM ride—milestones that cement his place among elite endurance riders.

He also participated in the Tour De 100 and did remarkable 100 KM for 100 days there by crossing 10400 KM in 100 days.

He is also a proud Super Randonneur, having successfully completed all BRM categories—200K, 300K, 400K, 600K, 1000K, and even the challenging LRM 1200K. His consistency, discipline, and perseverance embody the true spirit of randonneuring.
